        built next to a semi-detached house

a potentially negative dark space is turned into the highlight of the house:

a view  through glassdoors in the full length of the house

this south facing house by a norwegian fjord,with its green turf roof,becomes part of the slope rising from the water. its design is based on the theme; a long glass wall inside the house major space. the large roof over the verandah, framing the view, still allows the low winter sun in; but screens out the summer sun
