TWIN HOUSES ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: 2 houses in rudolf nilsens vei 2 trondheim :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::



a beautiful site        four pine trees          on top
                11 meters              level drop





let's not     put 
the houses on            but by                the hill 





the idea of a grand room        behind the verandah 
piano nobile 
           with an edge along it        sofas   steps   carved in


stripe of bedrooms at the back 
each with access
                 to a secret atrium



each house     is 2 houses 
a warm compact wooden cave  



+  a long verandah building 
                           put so close

shelf house | construction period : august 2014 - august 2015




a difficult narrow site


                             high density

infill    

        built next to a semi-detached house



a potentially negative dark space is turned into the highlight of the house:
     
a long undulating wall with shelves       

a view  through glassdoors in the full length of the house
